    Short Fiction Piece

This short story was written for my Intro to Fiction Writing class. Throughout the quarter, the class was given several writing exercises with different prompts. One of the prompts asked the class to write a “how-to” guide for something unusual, so I wrote a short fictional piece on how to live in a survival camp during a zombie apocalypse. As an avid fan of the horror genre, I was excited to further develop this piece.   Zombies are perhaps one of the most prolific subgenres of horror fiction and many different writers have contributed their own ideas as to what makes the monsters scary. Netflix Blog Post

This project was written for my Intro to Technical and Professional Writing class. The assignment was to write a technical writing guide about social media or entertainment apps. Experimental Film Essay

I chose to discuss Meshes of the Afternoon, a short film by the experimental filmmaker, Maya Deren. In this essay, I provided my own interpretation of the piece and explained how the formal elements of film helped contribute to my ideas.

    Proofread / Fact Check

This is a short fiction piece that was written by one of my classmates from my Editing and Publishing class. Throughout the quarter, we had several writing exercises. We would choose one of four student-written prompts, or “calls for submissions,” to develop into a short, two-page story. These stories would be treated as though they were being sent for publication in a magazine or journal, and I was assigned to peer review this story. I searched for any spelling and grammatical errors, additionally noting any parts of the story that could be fact-checked. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ur_fTx4YgCetO26xNmePpnFIYJVXhYp6oAdsTMsqBJk/edit
